The Oklahoma Thunder rained down hard of the L.A Lakers’ parade. The Lakers looked to go up 3-0 in this series but the Thunder had other ideas as they took a game 3 win over the Lakers.  Ron Artest still hasn’t found his offensive game, but his defensive tenacity on Kevin Durant is serious. With that said, Kevin Durant’s defense on Kobe Bryant is s-s-s-s-serious. The 4th quarter one on one defense in game 3 was commendable for both teams. The word on the street is Kobe’s injuries and age is finally catching up with him. I say the Lakers’ bench is a problem with their lack of depth at guard.  Potentially the Achilles heel for the Lakers.  Developing.

Why is it just when you think the Spurs are dead in the water they start kicking again? San Antonio’s game 3 win was a big game that put them up 2-1 in the best of seven series. Caron Butler and Shawn Marion had no real impact in the game largely due to their horrible defense coupled with lack luster offense. At times, even J Kidd was an offensive liability, but as the game developed, he improved. Dallas has to make  adjustments to get a road win to even the series, if not, then this Texas two-step could end quickly.

Down on South Beach, there was a good game in Miami as the Heat tried to get a win at home. Boston won this in a buzzer beater ending shot by Paul Pierce. The Heat hit the Celtics with everything they had including the kitchen sink and came up with a loss.  Boston took a 3-0 lead against the Heat and if they don’t do something about it in the next game Wade, Richardson & Erik Spoelstra will be going fishing with Barkley, Ernie and Kenny. (Written before today’s game)

Chicago’s win at home over Cleveland kept them alive and guaranties themselves a game five. The Bulls are a scrappy team, but it’s pretty apparent they will fall under the dominance of the Cavaliers.  Lebron is great but Cleveland needs to stay away from the Lebron isolation plays.  This takes away from the rest of the team being involved in the offense and the defense has an upper hand. I always questioned Mike Brown’s coaching and still do, but I still feel the Cavs are favored to go to the finals. (Game 3 in process)

The Suns took another convincing win over the Trail Blazers. Although I know Phoenix will win this series I don’t see them making it to a conference final, but they are an interesting high scoring team that’s fun to watch. The Suns are still not playing defense, so you can blame that on Mike D’antoni, or can you? (I’ll wait…)

Get your Afro picks out cause it was a blow out in Utah as the Jazz defeated the Nuggets. There is no surprise that the Jazz take this series 2-1 the lack of defensive intensity from Denver was their downfall.

See you on the other side of a few more playoff games.
