Knicks: It’s Raining Threes!

Posted: March 18, 2011 in iHayez on the Go

Grizzlies, 99 v. Knicks, 120

A new franchise record was set last night as the Knicks dropped twenty threes against the Grizzles. Tony Douglas was a one man rock band tying a Knicks record with nine three pointers and now joins Knicks alum Latrell Sprewell and John Starks with the notable distinction. Carmelo Anthony put in 28 points while Amare had 16 points and Tony Douglas added 29 points.

Contrary to what Charles Barkley believes, the Knicks can play defense. It’s important they find a way to keep this momentum going, with only fifteen games left in the season, the Knicks are struggling to hold on to the sixth place spot in the Eastern standings. The Knicks currently lead the Philadelphia Sixes by a game, and the 5-5 record in the month of March did little to improve their hold as the sixth seed.

Last night’s game was a great building block with four weeks left in the season and if the Knicks can commit to defense and great ball movement, they will be in great shape the first round of the playoffs.

The Knicks held the Grizzles under 100 points and their offense was hot and buttery like my momma’s biscuits, mmm.
