Stick a fork in’em they’re done.  The Dallas Mavericks are down 3-1 in the best of seven series to the San Antonio Spurs.  With one more win from the Spurs this series is over and I already think it is.  I picked the Mavs to beat the Spurs but now it seems that I am eating my words.  I’m not surprised by this turn of events but I thought Dirk and the boys had a bigger set of balls than that.  The Dallas Mavericks have choked over and over again and this series is looking like that ground-hog day movie.  Rick Carla got out coached and the Dallas players got out played.

With the Orlando Magic taking care of business and making the Charlotte Bobcats disappear they are one step closer to the Eastern Conference Finals.  Damn Jordan, your team played hard, true, but, they couldn’t win one game?!  The Bobcats played hard during the season but ran into a brick wall and I’m not talking about Dwight Howard.  Jemeer Nelson is killin’ it!  He’s playing with a chip on his shoulder and seems unstoppable.  Next to Cleveland I think the Orlando Magic have a real legit chance of reaching the finals. The winner of the Milwaukee Bucks/Atlanta Hawks series will face the Magic.  I’m sure Atlanta will move on and win this series against Milwaukee but will lose to Orlando in the next round.

Eastern Conference Match Ups

  • (1) Cleveland (61-21) Games remaining: 0 (0 Home, 0 Away) vs. +.500: 0, vs. East: 0 – Projected Winner
  • (8) Chicago (41-41) Games remaining: 0 (0 Home, 0 Away) vs. +.500: 0, vs. East: 0

Regular season series (Series tied 2-2)
Nov 5, 2009   Chicago 86, Cleveland 85
Dec 4, 2009    Chicago 87, Cleveland 101
Mar 19, 2010 Cleveland 92, Chicago 85
Apr 8, 2010    Cleveland 108, Chicago 109

This will be a good match up although the Cavaliers will win this hands down. The Bulls made a good run to make it to the post season & I do feel they will win some games but not enough. The Caviliers will win this series in six games.

  • (4) Boston (50-32) Games remaining: 0 (0 Home, 0 Away) vs. +.500: 0, vs. East: 0 – Projected Winner
  • (5) Miami (47-35)  Games remaining: 0 (0 Home, 0 Away) vs. +.500: 0, vs. East: 0

Regular season series (Celtics lead (3-0)
Nov 29, 2009 Boston 92, Miami 85
Jan 6, 2010     Boston 112, Miami 106
Feb 3, 2010    Miami 102, Boston 107

Although I don’t see the Celtics making it to the Eastern conference finals I do not see them making an early exit. Unfortunately, Dwayne Wade doesn’t have enough help on the offensive side.  Let’s not forget Boston still plays some good defense when they want to. It will take the Boston Celtics six games to end this series.

  • (3) Atlanta (53-29) Games remaining: 0 (0 Home, 0 Away) vs. +.500: 0, vs. East: 0 – Projected Winner
  • (6) Milwaukee (46-36) Games remaining: 0 (0 Home, 0 Away) vs. +.500: 0, vs. East: 0

Regular season series (Hawks lead 2-1)
Feb 28, 2010    Milwaukee 102, Atlanta 106
Mar 22, 2010    Atlanta 95, Milwaukee 98
Apr 12, 2010    Atlanta 104, Milwaukee 96

This will be a close series even though Andrew Bougat is done for the season. The Bucks are a tough team but I definitely feel the Hawks are a much better team with the best sixth man in the league today. This series could go to seven games but Hawks will eventually win.

  • (2) Orlando (59-23) Games remaining: 0 (0 Home, 0 Away) vs. +.500: 0, vs. East: 0 – Projected Winner
  • (7) Charlotte (44-38) Games remaining: 0 (0 Home, 0 Away) vs. +.500: 0, vs. East: 0

Regular season series (Magic lead 3-1)
Nov 10, 2009    Orlando 93, Charlotte 81
Nov 16, 2009    Charlotte 91, Orlando 97
Jan 23, 2010    Orlando 106, Charlotte 95
Mar 14, 2010    Charlotte 96, Orlando 89

This is another interesting match up.  The Charlotte Bobcats have been playing well. During the season they made some key acquisitions that have paid off big time. Steven Jackson, Tyrus Thomas, and Chandler have given this team a potent Larry Brown coached team. Let’s not forget the owner Micheal Jordan the first NBA player with his title. Too bad they are playing the Orlando Magic in the first round. There is no way they can get past Dwight Howard and company. This series will go no more than six games.
